Drivebase is an open-source, self-hostable platform that connects your cloud storage providers under one interface. This policy explains what data we handle and how — and it draws a clear line between the self-hosted software and the managed cloud service at cloud.drivebase.io.
Self-hosted Drivebase
When you run Drivebase on your own infrastructure, your data never reaches us. Everything — provider credentials, file metadata, and operation history — lives in the database you control. We do not receive telemetry, file contents, or account information from self-hosted instances.
Managed cloud service
If you use the hosted service at cloud.drivebase.io, we process a limited amount of data to provision and run your instance:
- Account data — your email address and authentication details, used to sign you in and contact you about your account.
- Billing data — subscription and payment information is processed by our payment provider, Polar. We do not store full card details on our servers.
- Instance metadata — the plan you are on and the resources allocated to your instance, used for provisioning, support, and billing.
Storage provider credentials
Credentials you connect (Google Drive, Amazon S3, Dropbox, and others) are stored within your own Drivebase instance so it can talk to those providers on your behalf. We do not browse, copy, or sell the contents of your files.
Analytics
On this website we use privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics to understand aggregate traffic (such as page views and referrers). It does not track you across sites or build an advertising profile.
Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share information only with the service providers needed to run the cloud offering — for example, our payment processor and hosting infrastructure — and only to the extent required to deliver the service.
Your choices
- You can delete your cloud account and instance at any time, which removes the associated account and instance data.
- You can disconnect any storage provider from within Drivebase.
- Self-hosting gives you full control: export, migrate, or delete your data directly.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. Material changes will be reflected by the "last updated" date above.
